Abstract

Mo Yan is an important representative of Chinese root-searching writers.Though born in different cultural background, Garcia Marquez’s magic realism style greatly impacts Mo Yan’s literary creation. In displaying various aspects of Chinese people’s character and social life, Mo Yan merges folk tales, history and the contemporary, and constructs his unique magic realism with oriental characteristics.
