Abstract

Fragrant pear(Pyrus sinkiangensis Yu) was used to investigate the effects of 1-MCP(1-methylcyclopropene) postharvest treatment and MA storage on respiration, ethylene production, soluble solide content, firmness, and hue-angle of pear fruit during storage. The results indicated that 1-MCP and MA storage fruit decreased the respiration rate, inhibited ethylene production and delayed the peak of ethylene production. The 1-MCP-treated fruit had higher SSC and inhitited decrease of fruit firmness,1-MCP prevented the decline of fruit coat during storage or shelf condition, maintained fruit quality.
