Abstract

Investigations were carried out to compare the efficacy of phorate and disulfoton in granular as well as seed treatment along with 4% seed treatment with carbofuran against leaf miner, Phytomyza horticola during 1976–77 and 1977–78 at Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi, India. Disulfoton and phorate @ 0.5 kg a.i./ha or seed treatment (4%) with disulfoton or phorate or carbofuran were effective in reducing the damage by leaf miner up to 14 weeks age of the crop. Carbofuran seed treatment was tested for the first time in pea crop and found useful in leaf miner control.
