A special type torticollis splint

Abstract Three patients with congenital muscular torticollis were treated using bipolar tenotomy of the sternocleidomastoid muscle and postoperatively a special type of splint which is worn for six months. This new splint wasfound to be very practical, allowing the patient make exercises and providing good hygienic conditions and comfort in comparison to the traditional Minerva cast. Özet Konjenital muskuler tortikolisli üç hasta, SCM kasın bipolar tenotomisi ve postoperatif dönemde altı ay süre ile uygulanan özel tip tortikolis ateli ile tedavi edildi. Yeni geliştirilen bu özel atelin pratik hasta ipin kullanımı rahat egzersizlere izin veren, rahat çıkarıp takılabilen ve hastanın hijyenik sorunlarında Minerva alçısına göre büyük rahatlık sağladığı kanısına varıldı.
