Abstract
Downstream processing means the recovery and purification of biotechnological products obtained from natural sources. This step is indispensable in the manufacture of final, formulated products to enable them to be implemented to the market. In other words, downstream processing is the development of purified product designated for specific use by very specialized processes to be manufactured in marketable quantities.
