Abstract
Mechanisms for the acceleration of fast particles in the solar corona are reviewed briefly. Three specific problems related to acceleration on the Sun are discussed: (1) bulk energization of electrons in solar flares, (2) injection of electrons into diffusive shock acceleration, and (3) the relative abundances of accelerated ions.
