A Study on the Position Changes of Female through TV Dramas

The paper is focusing on analyzing the change of woman’s social position through the heroine’s role in TV dramas. In the past, TV drama heroines took just minor roles and were the object of men’s possession. However, the position of women in drama starts to change as the social participation of women widens. The heroines only took roles of assisting men like secretary or housewife, but now, their role is being transformed into more diverse and major. Drama unfolds the plot based on a fiction story, but it contains a social problem and a fashion of the day. It also makes people recognize the changes of society, while they sometimes have wrong idea that the images in TV society are reality. The fact that the mass media reflects the changed images in modern society is absolutely true. Above all, drama creates another world in TV, so it’s one of the fastest media representing our reality. This paper investigated the heroine’s drama roles from 2005 through the first half of 2011 and effect on our society.
