Abstract

Electric network in Chongqing is too dense and power linespsila corridors are precious. For the limitation of the original linespsila sectional area, the capacity of the line canpsilat meet the need of electrical loadpsilas development. The large cross-section conductor technology can be used to substantially increase the transmission capacity of overhead lines, and can solve the contradiction between the large demand for transmission capacity and the limited line corridors. This paper introduces simply the current project situation and technological development level of the big sectional wire electric transmission technology in China and analyzes the feasibility of large cross-section conductor on the basis of expanding the capacity of old 110 kV power transmission line for 30% in Chongqing. The best procedure, which can bring us the largest social benefit and economical benefit, has been proposed through the all-around comparison of static investment and dynamic effect between the different procedures for expanding transmission capacity.
