Abstract

The identification and biological characterization of the pathogen isolated from papaya(Carica papaya L.)fruit induced by anthracnose were studied in this paper. The results showed that the pathogen was Colletotrichum gloeosporioides Penz.,growing most quickly on PDA under experimental conditions. The optimum temperature for its mycelial growth and conidial germination were 20-30 ℃and 25-30 ℃ separately, and the optimum pH were 7-9 and 6-10.The glucose, sucrose were more beneficial for the mycelial growth and the latter more beneficial for conidial germination than the other carbon sources. To the nitrogen sources, the peptone and yeast extract was more favorable for mycelial growth than the others and the yeast extract was the best for its conidial germination.Besides, the condition of constant darkness and light-dark alternation were effective for mycelial growth, but just the light-dark alternation was conducive for the conidial germination.
