Abstract
A study was conducted to find out the response of four levels each of nitrogen (0, 100, 150 and 200 kg/ha) and phosphorus (0, 30, 60 and 90kg/ha) and their interactions on growth and seed yield of radish cv. Japanese White. Highest seed yield (6.25 q/ha.) was recorded with the application of 150 kg N/ha. Highest dose of nitrogen Le. 200 kg/ha resulted in delayed flowering, less number of branches, pods per plant and poor seed yield. On the contrary, the application of phosphorus showed no significant change in any of the characters studied except days to 50% flowering and seed yield during 1995 and 1994, respectively over zero phosphorus level. Seed yield was at par upto 60 kg P/ha, however, highest dose of phosphorus (90 kg P/ha) resulted in significant decrease in seed yield. The NxP interaction reflected significant effect on different growth and seed yield attributes. The maximum seed yield of 6.65 q/ha was registered under N150 P30 kg/ha and closely followed by N150 P60 kg/ha (6.55 q/ha).
