Analysis of color terms and the differences between Chinese and western cultures

The understanding and feelings to color terms between Chinese and English people are much alike,but the associations,symbols and implied meanings of color terms to the different nations are different because of their different customs,environmens,ways of thinking, religious beliefss and psychology.Therefore,it is of practical significance to know the differences between English and Chinese color words and their extended meanings for developing translation practice and promoting Chinese-English cultural communication.
