Abstract

At present,organophosphorus pesticides are being widely used in agriculture for sustaining productivity,however,their degradation in nature is a great problem causing threats to the natural environment.There are many conventional and physico-chemical methods for organophoshorus degradation which are though effective,but are uneconomic,and may cause secondary pollution to the environment.With the development of biotechnology,the prospective of microorganism degradation of organophoshorus has been explored in order to reduce their deposition in the agricultural soils.This paper discusses about production and application status quo of organophosphorus pesticide,types of microorganism useful for decomposing the organophosphorous pesticide,influencing factors and approaches for developing a method for microbial degradation of organophosphorous pesticides.It also pointed out that reducing and eliminating the adverse effects of environmental factors for microorganism degradation microbial.
