Abstract

The study was conducted to determine the effect of potassium (control, and 5 kg K2O/da) on the yield, yield components and nodulation in different chickpea cultivars (Aziziye-94, Gökçe, Işık-05 and Yaşa-05) in 2009 and 2010. Trials were laid out in a split plot design with three replications. In the study were investigated yield and yield components such as plant height, root and shoot dry weight per plant, nodules number per plant, pod number per plant, seed yield, biological yield, harvest index, 100-seed weight and protein rate in seed. According to the results, potassium application as well as different cultivars proved significantly increases in yield and yield components. The highest seed yields in 2009 and 2010 were obtained from 5 kg K2O/da application with 83.7 kg/da and 116.9 kg/da , respectively. Similarly the highest seed yields were obtained from cv Gökçe with 85.7 kg/da and 126.3 kg/da in 2009 and 2010, respectively
