A latin nyelv hivatalos használatának története a Római Birodalomban = History of the official use of Latin language in the Roman Empire

A kutatási periódus alatt a vonatkozó források szociolingvisztikai vizsgálatával sikerült szinkrón és diakrón módon leírni a Római Birodalom hivatalos nyelvhasználati gyakorlatát a Kr.e. 3. századtól a Kr.u. 8. századig, figyelmünket mindvégig a birodalom két, a rómaiak által egyedül hivatalosnak tekintett presztízsnyelvére, a latinra és a görögre koncentrálva. Feltártuk a római hivatalos nyelvhasználati gyakorlat elméleti hátterét, azaz leírtuk a római nyelvpolitika jellegzetességeit. A kutatómunka részeredményeit itthoni és külföldi konferenciaelőadások formájában ismertettük és vitattuk meg a szakmai közvéleménnyel, amelyeket magyar és / vagy idegen nyelven is publikáltunk. A kutatási periódus végére elkészült egy a kutatómunka eredményeit összegző monografikus munka a római birodalom nyelvpolitikájáról, amely publikáció előtt áll. | During the research period we have described the praxis of official language use of the Roman Empire both synchronically and diachronically from the 3rd century B.C. to the 8th century A.D. based on the sociolinguistic interpretation of the relevant sources resp. focusing on the two prestige languages only regarded as official by the Romans, namely Latin and Greek. We have tried to discover the theoretical background of the Roman praxis of official language use, i.e. the Roman language policy. We have presented the partial results of the research project to experts, both at national and international congresses and we have published these results in the actes of these congresses or in periodicals. Until the end of the research period we have completed a monographic study on the language policy of the Roman Empire (under publication).
