Investigation on Knowledge,Attitude and Practice towards Smoking in Shandong Province

Objective To learn the civil servants'knowledge,attitude and practice towards smoking in order to provide the basis of selecting proper intervention methods and strategies in Shandong province.Methods By means of multiple-stage and stratified sampling,servants were investigated in Jinan,LiaoCheng and Guangrao.Results The current smoking rates of servants were 29.3%;heavy smokers accounted for 33.5%;successful quit rate was 7.0%;93.8%of smokers smoked at work time.Conclusion The smoking rates of civil servants were still high and they lack enough and correct knowledge about the harmful effects of smoking.They have no strong support to complete ban in public places.Education should be provided.
