Abstract

The absence of the Late Ordovician-Early Carboniferous strata in the North China Platform has been considered as a final conclusion, but the author (1986—1989), during the study on lithofacies and palaeogeography in the Carboniferous-Permian of Liaoning, obtained some fossil plants, Sublepidodendron sp., Lepidostrobus grabaui, Connophyllum sp., Stigmariaficoides, Neuropteris gigantea, Lepidostro bophyllum and so on at G-layer bauxite and the roof of the lower part of Benxi Group in the Middle Carboniferous at Gaotaizi, Niuxintai in Benxi and Nuanhezi in Huairen County.
