Abstract

We report the results of a study of the asymmetry of the azimuthal distributions of the angles between transverse momenta of hadrons in K/sup -/p interactions at 32 GeV/c. It is shown that a difference in the asymmetry is observed for pairs of like-charged and unlike-charged pions for small values of rapidity intervals and is due mainly to the identity effect. With increase of p/sub T/ of the pions this difference does not increase, which is inconsistent with the predictions of the Lund quark fragmentation model. A significant asymmetry of the angular distribution between a proton and a K/sup 0//sub S/ meson is observed, which indicates that between the p/sub T/ of these leading hadrons there are negative kinematic correlations which are absent in the Lund model.
