Defining sustainable forest management criteria for Turkish forestry.

Sustainable forest management, in a broad sense, is a concept by which community defines the values offorest resources to be maintained. Criteria and indicators are used for concretizing the sustainability. They aretools for assessing and reporting the status and progress towards sustainability. This study defines national levelcriteria for monitoring sustainable forest management. The study employs Delphi method. This study created aDelphi panel including three expert groups: Forestry Institutions, Academicians and NGOs. Study produced ninecriteria for assessing sustainability in forest resource management in Turkey.
