Thinking and strategies of accelerating the development of rural agricultural science and technology in Guangxi

【Objective】Thinking and strategies aimed at advancing the development of rural agricultural science and technology in Guangxi were presented to provide decision-making references for government departments. 【Method】By using qualitative and quantitative analysis, paramount achievements, current existing problems and corresponding suggestions were elaborated. 【Result】New progress has been made in key scientific program execution, rural innovation platform, superior variety breeding, scientific achievements transformation and scientific poverty-relieve, however there were still issues including imperfect innovation mechanism, non -competitive innovation capability, and rural business mechanism meeting the challenge of industrialization and urbanization , etc. 【Suggestion】For the sake of the development of rural agricultural science and technology in Guangxi, it is proposed that agricultural science and technology innovation platform, modern agricultural industry science and technology demonstration county, innovation-type rural service system , innovative team construction, grass-roots sci-tech ability should be constructed; and favorable policy environment, collaborative innovation, and agricultural investment should be reinforced.
