Empirical Analysis of Factors Affecting Farmers’Income Increase in Awat County of Xinjiang

Using the survey data of the farmers’income situation in the year 2010 in Awat county of Xinjiang,the principal component regression was used to establish the statistical model for drawing the comprehensive rank of the factors affecting farmers’ income increase.The results showed that family managerial income,average acreage of arable land per farmer family,living consumption expenditure of farmer family,family managerial expenditure,policy-type subsidy income per farmer household,non-agricultural income of farmer,and educated years per farmer family had positive effects on farmers’income increase.Cotton price,cotton yield per unit area,and the number of non-agricultural people played a negative role on the income increase of farmer.Finally,the key factors which affected the income increase of farmers in Awat county were empirically analyzed,and the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions were proposed.
