Abstract

The decay of the 1/sup +/, 14s ground state of /sup 116/In produced by neutron capture has been re-investigated using Ge(Li) detectors. It is found that besides the ground state of /sup 116/Sn, excited levels at 1293.6 (2/sup +/) and 2844.6 (2/sup +/) keV are populated, while no evidence could be obtained for the population of the 0/sup +/ and 2/sup +/ levels at 2030 and 2112.4 keV, respectively. The activation cross section for /sup 116m2/In (2.16s, I/sup pi / = 8/sup -/) has been deduced as 83 plus or minus 8b. (GE)
