Abstract

The histological structure of oviduct in sheep during estrous period was observed by using the frozen section and H.E dying. The results showed that during estrous, the thickness of longitudinal folds in mucosal epithelium of the fimbriae, infundibulum, and ampulla of sheep's oviduct were incrassate little bit,and the mucosal epithelium fell into lamina propria formed some oviduct glands. The gland epithelium was irregular pseudo-stratified ciliated columnar epithelium which consist a lot of secretory cells, fewer ciliated columnar cells, and basilar cells. There were secretory bubbles on top of many secretory cells in the mucosal and gland epithelium of the fimbrea, infundibulum, and ampulla of oviduct, but not on top of the secretory cells of the oviduct isthmus.Oviducal glands were found in the lamina propria of the fimbria, infundibulum, and ampulla of the oviduct, the secretory bubbles were found at top of the secretory cells in sheep during the estrous period. The morphological structure and secrete mode of oviducal glands in isthmus was different with others places in the oviduct.
