Abstract

Integrated energy planning is a process that develops information relevant to decisions regarding the energy supply and management system. Its scope includes the selection of new technologies and the operation of the supply system, as well as the management of supplies (i.e., full allocation, tariff structure). In addition to these direct economic factors of energy supply, integrated energy planning should include proper consideration of social cost factors, such as environment, health, and safety. Purpose of this paper is to describe an integrated energy planning approach and an integrated energy planning model, and to provide a simple structure for performing integrated energy planning case studies that include environmental impacts. 41 refs., 18 figs., 10 tabs.
