Abstract

The marine fisheries of the world can be broadly \ngrouped under two major categories, namely \ndemersal fisheries and pelagic fisheries. Demersal \nfisheries are confined to the continental shelf and conti. \nnental slope and are chiefly exploited by using various \ntypes of trawls which are towed from fishing vessels to \ndrag along the bottom.
