Abstract

Recently, cruise demand has increased especially in the North America and Europe in response to the inauguration of large-scale cruise ship. In Japan, it is expected that tourism by cruise ship becomes a new style of tourism. However, there are few researches to investigate cruise tourism quantitatively. Therefore, the trend of cruise ship building and that of cruise tourism demand are investigated, the visiting port of ocean cruise ship in Japan is analyzed, and cruise fare function is estimated in this study. Through the analysis, the possibility of the promotion of cruise tourism in Asia is examined.
