Abstract

This work is focused on broadband signal transmission between antennas connected to front-end transmitter/receiver circuits. A design approach is developed to account for antenna's impact on system-level performance measures through decomposing systems into EM-related (antenna and channel), circuit and signal components. A set of system merits, which are measurable, is introduced. The basic results are illustrated numerically for geolocation of a transmitter using a receiver linear array. (4 pages)
