Abstract
The College Life Task Assessment Instrument (CLT) — a 35-item questionnaire taking approximately 20 minutes to complete — assesses student performances and performance appraisals within each of seven life task domains important to college life. Initial reliability and validity results demonstrate the CLT's ability to predict first-year and cumulative GPA, first-year and cumulative credits earned, students' academic, social, and personal-emotional adjustment, and their attachment to the university. It is argued that the CLT has the additional benefit of identifying more closely which areas of college are potential problems and which are strengths for individual students.
