Abstract
Brassica rapa accession C1-33 was crossed with waxless inbred line 1047 of B. napus. The F_(1) hybrids were selfed or backcrossed to C1-33 as male parent. The observation of segregation for waxlessness in F_(2), BC_(1) and BC_(2) showed that the dominant gene for waxlessness in line 1047 was located at genome A of B. napus. The results will provide a foundation for molecular mapping and cloning of the gene.
