Abstract
This paper portrays a new approach to manufacturing and supply chain management for low and mid-volume machine-building manufacturing companies based on system optimization. The objectives are to achieve the minimum possible costs and best possible deliveries. Therefore, the supply chain is treated as related job shops, so the existing models ofjob shop scheduling can be applied to improve supply chain performance.
