Abstract
Nighttime visibility is a critical issue to users of highways and to those involved in street lighting design. The article discusses the importance of identifying the factors that affect visibility. Described is a proposed calculation procedure for lighting design based on visibility. Also necessary is to take into account the color output of the light source.
