Abstract

Until recently, the selection of economically optimal irrigation practices has been based mainly on field experimentation. Such experiments have been carried out on various crops in regions where climatic conditions necessitate irrigation. The conclusions obtained in such experiments are valid only under conditions identical to those prevailing during the experiment.
