Abstract
Objective:To explore the correlation between SOD,MDA and liver lipid deposition.Methods:64 SPF Wistar rats were randomly divided into group A,B,C,D,E and F.Group A,B,C,D and E were given high fat diet(84.4% standard feed+10% lard+ 0.5% cholesterol+ 0.1% bile salt + 5% egg yolk powder) and distillate spirit to establish fatty liver model of rats, meanwhile, group B,C,D and E were given Gankang Ⅳ(GKⅣ) decoction at low, middle and high doses and Dongbao Gantai tablet, respectively.Group F was selected as control. After 8 weeks, rats were sacrificed and 10 percent of the liver homogenate was prepared to detect the superoxide dismutase(SOD) activity, malondialdehyde(MDA),TC and TG levels. Results:After 8 weeks, the TC,TG and MDA levels in group B,C,D and E decreased significantly while SOD activity increased significantly compared with those in group A(P0.01~0.05).The TC and TG levels in group C and D were significantly different from that in group E(P0.05).The SOD activity between group B and E had a very significant difference(P0.01),between group C and E had a significant difference(P0.05).Compared with group E,the MDA levels in group B,C and D had a very significant difference(P0.01).Conclusion:GKⅣ decoction can effectively reduce the liver lipid deposition, increase the SOD activity and decrease the MDA level. The SOD activity and MDA level have a close relationship with deposition of TC and TG.
