Youth, partnerships and participation? Action research as a methodological approach.

This chapter outlines four elements of an action research project (in Worcestershire, UK) that had a remit to address the issues and concerns of young people in rural areas. First, it reviews the background to the debate on youth and partnerships. Secondly, it discusses the contextual background of the case-study partnership. Thirdly, it examines implications of action research as a methodology for studying the young. Finally, it evaluates the degree of integration achieved between young people and policy makers by the partnership. The chapter concludes with a short discussion on the success of action research as a methodology.
