Medicinal Plants in Bhupdeopur Forest, Raigarh Chhattisgarh in Central India

The present paper reviews plants traditionally used by tribals in the Bhupdeopur forest range of Raigarh di s- trict, C.G. India. The main aim of the present study is to focus on the diversity of m edicinal plants for further utility and conservation A survey on medicinal plant diversity was conduc ted in the Bhupeopur forest Raigarh district, C.G. India through the period of 2009 to 2011.In present study seven tribes Gond, Oraon, Kamwer, Dhanwar, Sanwara, Bhaina and Khadiya have been considered for Ethnobotanical studies. After fields survey and interview with the tribal people of the surveyed area, observed medicinal plant were listed followed by botanical name vernacular name, family, habit, part used and uses with the help of available literature. Total of 122 medicinal plants species belonging to 49 families were recor d- ed which indicate the heterogeneous floristi c composition in the Bhupdeopur forest.
