Investigation of the local tea plant germplasm resources in Anhui Province.

The tea plant germplasm resources are the most fundamental and important productive materials in tea production and act as the base of sustainable development and industrialization in tea industry.Anhui tea plantation areas are mainly distributed over the Huangshan mountainous area in South Anhui and Dabieshan mountainous area in West Anhui which are located in the south and north of Yangtze River respectively.Those areas are unique and characterized with the combination of the south and the north climate zones which have incubated the plenty of tea plant germplasm resources.In these areas,there are 10 national-level and 18 provincial-level tea cultivars.This paper focuses on the introduction of processing suitability,harvesting season,final tea quality,stress resistance and cultivation management of the local tea germplasm resources in Anhui Province,which can provide guidance in tea production.
