Abstract
This report looks at the bespoke production of motor yacht Maryslim, the materials and techniques used and the issues that occurred. With the aim to turn the Maryslim design into a limited production run of 10 boats. The new production focuses on the manufacturing techniques used and the management strategies put in place to ensure the production runs smoothly and a high quality vessel is produced. The current economic climate has created the need for streamlining of manufacturing cost and investigation into how the production can be made more efficient, the original and new productions are compared to see what savings can be made through materials and labour. \nThe limited production run is a viable endeavour as there is an emerging market for boats that are more economical, useable in more weather conditions and can be taken further than the average motor yacht. There are systems that can be put in place to reduce costs whilst ensuring quality is not compromised.
