Abstract
The results of three years' research in lime/fly ash and lime/gypsum stabilization of non-cohesive soils are reported. The tests, carried out in situ and in the laboratory, showed possibilities of extending the use of the lime column deep stablization method to other soils, such as organic clay and silt. It was established that it is possible to get a high shearing strength in shorter time by using gypsum and lime and that a mixture of fly ash and lime at clay stabilization is a cheaper alternative than lime alone.
