Abstract

This report presents an evaluation of the Road Weather Service, a traffic information service operating in Finland since the winter of 1997-1998. The service sets three levels for conditions on roads with the information based on road conditions and weather. Based upon the log sheets that were filled out at traffic management centers, it was determined that 92% of the forecasts were found to be correct.
