Abstract
The 'three high' inbred line of waxy maize,S181,was bred using the method of genealogy with crossbreeding, and it polymerized the unique quality of glutinous maize resource in southwest and the high combining ability of ordinary maize resource outside.Eleven different maize hybrids from the crosses between S181 and other inbred lines were authorized to apply and popularize.Among these hybrids, four of them were examined and approved by the National Corn Variety Examine and Approve Committee.Furthermore two new inbred lines were selected by the improvement of S181,and were parents of three maize hybrids which were approved to extension.
