Abstract

This article explores the long-term impacts of the current U.S. nuclear strategy on China and Taiwan. Instead of traditional concept of “nuclear deterrence”, the author develops a framework for analysis of the U.S. nuclear strategy based on the Nuclear Posture Review 2002, which will determine U.S. nuclear forces planning over the next five to ten years.
