Abstract

The paper discusses the construction of a one-mile bus transit tunnel under construction by the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority as a vital link between South Station in downtown Boston and the South Boston Piers area. This new transit line, designated as the Silver Line, will provide service to the new Federal Courthouse, World Trade Center, Boston Convention Center, and the South Boston community, as well as the Logan Airport terminals. The paper's main aim is to describe the outreach and prequalification program implemented for the project.
