Abstract
This transit corridor and TOD planning manual is intended to illustrate how and why the corridor scale provides an important perspective for planning transit that supports successful TOD because it integrates knowledge about both the local and regional contexts. The manual begins with a discussion about transit corridors, identifying three main types and how each has a different impact on the TOD potential. This is followed by a making the discussion outlining the reasons planning at the corridor scale will create more successful outcomes. The second half of the manual focuses on the six major objectives of transit and TOD planning at the corridor scale. Each objective is linked to a strategy, and case studies illustrate successful corridor planning in real places.
