Abstract
At present, track irregularity inspection is done by track inspection cars on conventional as well as Shinkansen lines. One of the track irregularity inspection methods conceivable in the future is use of commercial railway vehicle, which method realizes a more frequent and labor saving inspection. This paper looks at an on board system without an operator coupled with a ground system. It is clear that an inertial measuring method or a first order differential method is available; it is possible to obtain the output by mid-chord offset; and it is possible to reduce on board processing and data transfer volume through division of jobs into irregularity inspection and processing.
