Abstract

To study the correlation of Gardnerella vaginalis (Gv) and bacterial vaginosis, we detected Gardnerella vaginalis in the secretion smears of 150 bacterial vaginosis cases and 100 controls by using immunofluorescent technique. The result showed that Gv positive rate was higher in bacterial vaginosis cases (57% ) than that in the control (25% ), P 0.01. Gv was attached in the periphery of 96% of clue cell. The results suggest that there is tight connection between Gv and Bv.
