Abstract

This article describes the use of the Yield Right of Way sign. Though not a substitute for a stop sign, the Yield sign can be used successfully at many intersections. The article discusses the shape and lettering of the sign, the legal authority for the sign, the use of 'slow' as an adjunct in some Yield signs, driver reactions to the sign, and impact on traffic accidents at those intersections that had Yield signs.
