Abstract
In the Danish Road Testing Machine a full-scale test pavement is constructed to provide a tool for investigation and verification of pavement design procedures and principles. The test pavement is considered a model as it is located indoors in a climate chamber in a concrete pit allowing control of groundwater level, and will never be exposed to live traffic, but only precisely designed load distributions. A spectrum of pavement response to traffic and climate loads are reported. Measured values of stress and strain were recorded under rolling wheels, under Falling Weight Deflectometer loadings and under static wheel loadings. The effect of different levels of groundwater table on stress and strain during wheel loadings was investigated. (A)
