Abstract

The composition and seasonal variations of the algal groups within the littoral zone of Tercan Dam Lake are Studied between March 1988-January 1989. Benthic flora of the lake was found to consist of Cholrophyta, Cyanophyta, Bacillariophyta, Dinophyta and Euglenophyta. Bacillariophyta was observed to generally dominate and Chlorophyta also dominated over the benthic algae in some periods. Seasonal changes were seen to occur in the epipelic algal flora. In spring and autumn periods, an increase of flora was observed.
