Abstract

This book reports on: fundamentals of heat transfer; ventilation and air requirements; expansion and contraction considerations; basic properties of thermal insulation. Installation of thermal insulation systems; calculated thermal conductances and transmittances residence and building construction. The guidebook covers the area of thermal insulation as applied to the field of construction. It discusses heat conductivity, effects of climate on construction materials and building decisions, properties and functions of thermal insulation, and economic considerations of energy use and conservation.
