The Brayton rotating unit was operated as part of a closed laboratory loop over a wide range of operating parameters.The operating p a r a m e t e r s included compres s o r outlet p r e s s u r e (15.0 t o 45.0 psia o r 10. 3 t o 31.0N/cm 2 abs), inlet tempera t u r e to the turbine (1460Oto 2060' R o r 811 to 1144 K), inlet temperature to the compressor (510' to 580' R o r 283 to 322 K), and molecular weight, which varied the aerodynamic speed from 69 to 100 percent of design.17.Key Words ( S u g g e s f e d b y Aufhorls)) 18.
