Abstract
This paper outlines the results of 58 normally consolidated undrained dynamic triaxial tests as well as 9 normally consolidated undrained static triaxial tests which were conducted for reasons of comparison. Thus the relationship between the residual pore water pressures and strains in undrained cyclic tests is explored. A statistically reliable relationship is obtained from the dynamic tests and it is also proved to be valid for the static tests. Through such a relationship pore pressures could easily be assessed from the strains. For the covering abstract of the conference see IRRD 287689. (Author/TRRL)
